Job summary

SafeSplash in Riverhead, NY is seeking a Lifeguard to oversee safety for students, parents, and staff. You will report to the General Manager and help maintain a safe environment at all times.

Responsibilities include surveillance, immediate safety actions, and incident reporting while delivering a world-class experience for families.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard Certification is required.
• CPR/First Aid and AED certifications are required and must be maintained.
• Learn the curriculum to include all safety aspects within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Comfortable working around water and interacting with children and parents.
• Must be able to lift and push up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance to ensure the safety of customers and report unsafe activities or equipment to management.
• Provide feedback to instructors immediately if they are outside of curriculum safety requirements.
• Act immediately to secure safety of customers in emergencies.
• Provide emergency care and treatment until EMS arrival.
• Prepare incident reports as required.
• Maintain a professional and engaging attitude.
• Attend monthly in-services to improve lifeguarding skills.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain constant surveillance to ensure the safety of our customers and report any unsafe activities, equipment or instruction to management.
• Provide feedback to instructors immediately if they are outside of curriculum safety requirements (i.e. safety distances, holds, turning backs, etc.)
• Act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of customers in the event of an emergency.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Prepare appropriate incident reports.
• Always present a professional and engaging attitude.
• Attend monthly in-services to continue to work on lifeguarding skills.

Job Type

• Weekdays, Weeknights and Weekends required
• 10+ hours a week (seasonality can impact this)
