Job summary

SafeSplash is seeking a Lifeguard to oversee safety for students, parents, and staff on-site. You will report to School Leadership and support a world-class, safe swimming environment.

Position requires lifeguard certification, CPR/First Aid/AED, and the ability to work weekdays, weeknights, and weekends with 10+ hours weekly. Training provided and on-site work location in Deer Park, NY.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard Certification required and maintained during employment.
• CPR-PR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance to ensure customer safety and report any unsafe activities to management.
• Provide feedback to instructors to ensure safety curriculum compliance.
• Act quickly to secure safety during emergencies and provide emergency care until EMS arrival.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain professional conduct at all times.
• Attend monthly in-services to improve lifeguarding skills.

Responsibilities

Safety

• Maintain constant surveillance to ensure the safety of our customers and report any unsafe activities, equipment or instruction to management.
• Provide feedback to instructors immediately if they are outside of curriculum safety requirements (i.e. safety distances, holds, turning backs, etc.)
• Act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of customers in the event of an emergency.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Prepare appropriate incident reports.
• Always present a professional and engaging attitude.
• Attend monthly in-services to continue to work on lifeguarding skills.

Requirements

• Lifeguard Certification is required and must be maintained during time of employment (training available)
• Current CPR-PR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required within 30 days of hire and be maintained (training available)
• Expected to learn the curriculum to include all safety aspects within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Comfortable working around water and interacting with children and parents.
• Must be able to lift and push up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods
