Job summary

Safesplash is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to ensure the safety of our students, parents and staff. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will monitor the pool area, enforce safety rules, and respond to emergencies to protect our community.

Responsibilities include continuous surveillance, reporting unsafe activities, maintaining safety equipment, and attending monthly training to keep lifeguarding skills current.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard Certification is required and must be maintained during time of employment (training available).
• Current CPR-PR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required within 30 days of hire (training available).

Responsibilities

• Safety surveillance of pool area and immediate reporting of unsafe activities to management.
• Provide feedback to instructors if safety requirements are not met.
• Act quickly to secure customers' safety in emergencies and administer first aid as needed.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain professional demeanor at all times.
• Attend monthly in-services to maintain lifeguarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Safety
• Maintain constant surveillance to ensure the safety of our customers and report any unsafe activities, equipment or instruction to management.
• Provide feedback to instructors immediately if they are outside of curriculum safety requirements (i.e. safety distances, holds, turning backs, etc.)
• Act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of customers in the event of an emergency.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Prepare appropriate incident reports.
• Always present a professional and engaging attitude.
• Attend monthly in-services to continue to work on lifeguarding skills.

Job Type

• Weekdays, Weeknights and Weekends required
• 10+ hours a week (seasonality can impact this)
• Work Location: On-site
• Reports to School Leadership

Requirements

• Lifeguard Certification is required and must be maintained during time of employment (training available)

• Expected to learn the curriculum to include all safety aspects within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Comfortable working around water and interacting with children and parents.
• Must be able to lift and push up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods
