Job summary

Splash Swim School in Jessup, MD is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to supervise pool safety for students and parents. Reporting to the General Manager, you will maintain a safe environment, enforce curriculum safety, and respond to emergencies with trained care.

This part-time on-site role requires teamwork, strong customer service, and flexible weekday/weekend availability. CPR/First Aid/AED-certified individuals are preferred, with certification maintenance required.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification is required and must be maintained during employment.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to learn the curriculum and safety requirements within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance to ensure the safety of customers and report hazards to management.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until EMS arrival.
• Deliver a world-class safety and customer service experience for families.
• Attend monthly in-services to update lifeguarding skills.

Responsibilities

Safety

• Maintain constant surveillance to ensure the safety of our customers and report any unsafe activities, equipment or instruction to management.
• Provide feedback to instructors immediately if they are outside of curriculum safety requirements (i.e. safety distances, holds, turning backs, etc.)
• Act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of customers in the event of an emergency.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Prepare appropriate incident reports.
• Always present a professional and engaging attitude.
• Attend monthly in-services to continue to work on lifeguarding skills.

Customer service

• Deliver a world-class experience by ensuring we are providing a safe environment for our swimmers.

Job Type

• Part-time
• Weekdays, Weeknights and Weekends required
• 10+ hours a week (seasonality can impact this)
• Work Location: On-site

Requirements

• Lifeguard Certification is required and must be maintained during time of employment (training available)
• Current CPR-PR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required within 30 days of hire and be maintained (training available) September 2025
• Expected to learn the curriculum to include all safety aspects within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Comfortable working around water and interacting with children and parents.
• Must be able to lift and push up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods
