Job summary

SafeSplash in Sterling, VA is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to protect the safety of our students, families, and staff. You will report to school leadership and ensure a safe aquatic environment across on-site facilities.

This role requires lifeguard certification, CPR-PR, First Aid and AED within 30 days of hire, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and weekdays as needed. Training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard Certification is required and must be maintained.
• CPR-PR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Learn the curriculum to include all safety aspects within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Comfortable around water and interacting with children and parents.
• Must be able to lift and push up to 50 lbs and be on feet for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance to ensure customer safety and report unsafe activities to management.
• Provide feedback to instructors about safety within curriculum requirements.
• Act immediately to secure safety in emergencies.
• Provide emergency care and treatment until EMS arrives.
• Prepare incident reports as needed.
• Attend monthly in-services to improve lifeguarding skills.

Responsibilities:

• Safety
• Maintain constant surveillance to ensure the safety of our customers and report any unsafe activities, equipment or instruction to management.
• Provide feedback to instructors immediately if they are outside of curriculum safety requirements (i.e. safety distances, holds, turning backs, etc.)
• Act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of customers in the event of an emergency.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Prepare appropriate incident reports.
• Always present a professional and engaging attitude.
• Attend monthly in-services to continue to work on lifeguarding skills.

Job Type

• Weekdays, Weeknights and Weekends required
• 10+ hours a week (seasonality can impact this)

Requirements:
