Job summary

Octagon Group is seeking a Technical Sales Specialist for Life Sciences & Drug Metabolism to cover the US market. You will learn customers’ workflows and become a trusted technical resource while selling laboratory instrumentation, chromatography solutions, consumables and software.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, scientific credibility, and a proactive sales approach. Remote-friendly, with office presence in Chantilly, VA as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in life sciences or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of life-science experience in a lab, sales, applications, or customer-facing technical role.
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
• Strong relationship-building and presentation skills.
• Confident, personable and commercially curious with drive to meet sales targets.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow sales across a nationwide US territory.
• Identify opportunities with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agrochemical and CRO customers.
• Build long-term relationships with laboratory scientists and decision-makers.
• Plan and conduct customer visits, online meetings and account-development activity.
• Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations and commercial proposals; respond to inquiries with quotes.
