Job summary

BD is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install and service biomedical instrumentation in the BD Waters ecosystem. The role covers the Philadelphia, Upstate NY, NJ and NY Metro areas with travel 60% and 1–2 overnight stays per week.

You will maintain inventory, complete documentation, and ensure ISO/GMP compliance while interfacing with customers and internal teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School diploma.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience fixing instruments or components.
• A valid Driver’s License with a clean motor vehicle record.
• Prior Field Service Engineer experience.
• Experience fixing medical device instruments is preferred.
• Customer interfacing experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel).
• Familiarity with Mac and PC operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Install and service instrumentation with supervision per ISO/GMP standards.
• Provide follow-up service by contacting customers after service.
• Maintain car stock, test equipment, tools and data.
• Complete service documentation per GMP requirements.
• Manage travel expenses within guidelines.
• Report quality control/technical problems to management.
• Maintain and use company vehicle per policy.
• Interface with other departments to resolve customer issues.
• Deliver BD-level service quality and customer relations.
• Manage company credit cards, travel advances, and parts inventory.
• Represent BD with professional appearance and judgment.
• Travel rate: 60% with 1-2 overnight stays weekly.
