Job summary

FBT Gibbons LLP is a national law firm seeking a Business Development Manager to drive revenue for the Life Sciences Industry team. The role collaborates with practice groups, industry teams and firm leadership, combining strategic planning with hands-on execution and budget oversight.

The ideal candidate will have a life sciences background, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to travel across the firm’s national footprint to deliver measurable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or related area.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in a B2B, professional services or legal setting.
• Experience in life sciences industry preferred.
• Strong strategic planning and development skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Proven leadership and ability to think critically.
• Travel as needed across the firm’s national footprint; some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Life Sciences Industry Team portfolio and client relationships, coordinating with Practice Groups and firm leadership.
• Collaborate with Directors of Practice Services and Department Chairs on performance and new service offerings.
• Develop and execute business development strategies; own client identification, engagement and proposals.
• Oversee BDAs and BDCs; set timelines and benchmarks; drive accountability.
• Prepare and manage RFPs and pitches for new business; coordinate cross‑department initiatives.
• Work with Marketing, Finance, Data & Innovation, Information Systems and other departments on initiatives.
