Job summary

FBT Gibbons LLP seeks a Business Development Manager to lead strategic initiatives for the Life Sciences Industry Team and related practices, including Intellectual Property (IP) and Data, Digital Assets & Technology (DDAT). You will develop and execute plans that drive revenue and client engagement across Practice Groups and Industry Teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required – degree in marketing, communications, business or other relevant area preferred.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in a B2B, professional services or legal setting required.
• Experience in life sciences industry preferred.
• Strong strategic planning and development skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to think critically.
• Self‑starter (initiative) with high energy and intellectual curiosity.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Excellent influential and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to travel as needed across the firm’s national footprint; some overnight travel required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio that includes Life Sciences Industry Team, IP and DDAT, and key client teams; decide priorities, resource allocation, and tactical execution with leaders.
• Collaborate with BDD/CBDO on strategic initiatives and represent leadership when needed.
• Work with department chairs on performance, new service offerings, and practice group growth.
• Drive and/or administer support for Industry Team and Practice Group pursuits.
• Create and implement BD strategies; identify clients, engage, cross-sell, pitch, coach attorneys, and oversee events and thought leadership.
