Job summary

FBT Gibbons LLP seeks a Business Development Manager to partner with Practice Groups, Industry Teams and leadership to shape and execute business development strategies that drive revenue across Life Sciences, IP and DDAT. The role blends strategic planning with hands-on execution, budget oversight, and performance tracking.

The ideal candidate brings market insight into life sciences, strong planning and leadership skills, and a track record in B2B or legal settings, with travel as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or related area.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in a B2B, professional services or legal setting.
• Experience in life sciences industry preferred.
• Strong strategic planning and development skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to think critically.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio including Life Sciences Industry Team, IP and DDAT, and key client teams; make independent BD priority decisions.
• Collaborate with BD leadership on strategic firm initiatives and represent leadership when needed.
• Work with Practice Services Directors to evaluate performance and develop new service offerings.
• Drive support for Industry Team and Practice Group pursuits and ensure alignment with budgets.
• Develop and implement BD strategies: client targeting, engagement, cross-servicing, proposals, coaching, and thought leadership.
• Oversee BDAs/BDCs and define timelines/benchmarks for BD opportunities and RFPs.
