Job summary

Western States Lodging and Management invites applications for a Life Enrichment Assistant to create meaningful moments for seniors. You’ll help plan and run recreational, cultural, and religious activities, developing monthly calendars and resident-focused stories while promoting safety, inclusion, and joy within the community.

The role emphasizes planning, energy, and compassionate interaction with residents, families, and staff, with opportunities for growth and teamwork across hotel brands

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of experience in life enrichment, recreation, activities, or related field.
• Current CPR certification required depending on the state.
• Genuine interest in working with seniors and/or individuals with disabilities.
• Positive, patient, dependable, compassionate approach to residents.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to frequently walk, stand, bend, stoop, sit, and reach.

Responsibilities

• Assist Recreation Director with planning, organizing, and executing activities.
• Develop and produce monthly calendars and newsletters featuring events and resident stories.
• Lead activities such as games, crafts, outings, and social events.
• Set up, supervise, and clean activity areas before/after events.
• Provide encouragement and safety-focused support to residents.
• Manage supplies and equipment; organize materials.
• Assist with scheduling outings and transportation; occasional driving.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
• Maintain dignity, privacy, and confidentiality; communicate effectively.

• Competitive Pay - $15 - 16 hourly.

What You’ll Do

• Assist the Recreation Director with planning, organizing, and executing a variety of recreational, social, cultural, and religious activities.
• Help develop and produce monthly activity calendars and periodic community newsletters featuring special events and resident-focused stories.
• Participate in and help lead activities such as games, crafts, outings, social events, and other resident programs.
• Set up, supervise, and clean activity areas before and after scheduled events.
• Provide encouragement and support to residents during activities while promoting safety, inclusion, and enjoyment.
• Manage activity supplies and equipment and help ensure materials are available and organized.
• Assist with scheduling resident outings and provide transportation support when needed, including occasional driving.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, and fellow associates.
• Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, supervisors, and coworkers.

What Makes You Successful

• 0-1 year of experience in life enrichment, recreation, activities, senior living, hospitality, customer service, or a related field preferred.
• Current CPR certification required depending on the state.
• A genuine interest in working with and caring for seniors and/or individuals with disabilities.
• A positive, patient, dependable, and compassionate approach to working with residents.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
