Western States Lodging & Management is hiring a Dining Room Server at Legacy Retirement of South Jordan to welcome residents, take orders, and deliver meals with a polished, attentive service.

This role offers $12–$14 hourly pay, eligibility for 401(k) with 4% match, medical/dental/vision, PTO, and hotel discounts. Strong communication and patience with seniors are valued; prior dining experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0–1 year of experience; dining or customer service helpful.
  • Valid Food Handler’s Permit or ServeSafe Certification as required by state.
  • Strong customer service skills and a welcoming personality.
  • Patience and willingness to work with older adults and individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, structured environment.
  • Attention to detail in table setup, cleanliness, and food service.
  • Ability to follow instructions, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, supervisors, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome residents and guests into the dining room with a friendly, positive attitude.
  • Assist residents and guests with seating and provide menus.
  • Take resident food orders and serve meals in a polished, attentive manner.
  • Communicate with residents throughout their dining experience to ensure satisfaction.
  • Set, clear, and reset dining tables promptly and efficiently.
  • Refill beverages and ensure condiments are stocked.
  • Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and organization of the dining room.
  • Wipe down tables, chairs, and other dining surfaces as needed.
  • Follow all food-handling, safety, sanitation, infection control, and loss-prevention procedures.
  • Maintain hygiene and appearance standards; communicate positively with residents and staff.

What You’ll Do

What Makes You Successful
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including those currently working toward completion.
  • 0–1 year of experience; previous dining or customer service experience is helpful but not required.
  • Valid Food Handler’s Permit or ServeSafe Certification in the state you are applying in, as required by the state.
  • Basic customer service skills and a pleasant, welcoming personality.
  • Patience and willingness to work with and care for older adults and individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, structured environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with table setup, cleanliness, and food service.
  • Ability to follow instructions, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively with residents, families, supervisors, and coworkers.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent walking and standing throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, sit, stand, and reach.
  • Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics and lifting techniques.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
