The City of Sunrise seeks a skilled technician to operate water and/or wastewater treatment systems on a rotating shift. The Operator Trainee handles pumping, treatment operations, and routine laboratory tasks under supervision, with training toward Florida licenses.

Graduates of high school or GED with a willingness to obtain FDEP licenses will join a team supporting residents and city services. The role demands reliability, the ability to follow procedures, and readiness for night/weekend

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proof of highest education must be attached with application.
• Reasonable experience in operation of a water/wastewater facility.
• Trainees Only: basic full-time utility plant experience or completion of an FDEP approved course.

Responsabilités

• Conduct routine checks on a water/wastewater plant and collect samples.
• Inspect machinery and adjust processes to ensure proper operation.
• Operate pumps and auxiliary equipment, report and repair as needed.
• Prepare shift operation records and supervise trainees.
