Job summary

The City of Sunrise is seeking a Trainee Water/Wastewater Operator to join its utilities team on a full‑time, on‑site basis. You will work rotating shifts, support pumping systems, treatment operations, laboratory tests, and preventive maintenance under supervision.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of operating theory and principles of a water or wastewater plant.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and repair techniques for equipment operated.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine checks on a water or wastewater treatment plant; inspect treatment stages and take samples for process control and regulatory compliance.
• Inspect and adjust treatment plant equipment and procedures to conform with operating instructions.
• Operate pumps and auxiliary equipment, monitor conditions, and perform repairs as needed.
