Job summary

The City of Sunrise is seeking a skilled worker to perform basic installations, repairs, and maintenance on the water distribution and wastewater systems. Expect heavy manual labor, on-the-job training for more skilled tasks, and routine operation of City vehicles and equipment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, basic plumbing experience, and a valid driver’s license. Candidates must be willing to work shifts, overtime, and be available for emergency callouts, with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic full-time plumbing experience or experience with water/sewer lines preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; Florida license before hire.
• Willingness to work shift, overtime, and respond to emergencies; pass drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in repairing water mains and gravity sewer lines.
• Shovel debris, dig ditches, and mix mortar.
• Assist in meter maintenance and water taps.
• Flush water mains and inspect gravity sewer lines.
• Load and unload materials and operate city vehicles.
• Participate in standby program and respond to emergencies.
