POSITION SUMMARY

To support, implement, and monitor nursing care in a timely and accurate manner.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education / Training:

  • Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Workplace Experience: Patient Care Delivery

Equipment and Skills Training: Ability to work well under pressure, function dependently and independently, and be flexible in applying nursing knowledge across settings. Equipment includes Order Entry Computer System, Telemetry, AT&T Language Line, Omnicell Medication System.

Physical Environment: Post Partum unit with patients ranging from less than one year to ninety-nine years old.

Physical Effort:

  • Must communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Prolonged standing and working up to twelve hours per shift.
  • Push/pull objects up to 175 lbs.
  • Lift and turn patients up to 250 lbs. with assistance.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
  1. Revise patient care plans based on individual needs, diagnoses, standards, interventions, and outcomes.
  2. Assist with patient education, discharge planning, and post-discharge needs.
  3. Perform treatments, procedures, and operate equipment independently, adhering to policies and competency assessments.
  4. Handle solutions safely according to policies.
  5. Monitor and report patient conditions, evaluate responses, and modify care plans promptly.
  6. Accurately document care and responses in a timely manner.
  7. Create a healing and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
  8. Maintain position-specific qualifications.
  9. Support staff development.
  10. Ensure effective communication.
  11. Keep work area and personal appearance professional, clean, and safe.
