Position Summary

To support, implement, and monitor nursing care in a timely and accurate manner.

Position Requirements
Formal Education / Training:
  • Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Workplace Experience:

Patient Care Delivery

Equipment and Skills Training:

Ability to work well under pressure, function both dependently and independently, and apply basic nursing knowledge flexibly across settings. Equipment includes Order Entry Computer System, Telemetry, AT&T Language Line, Omnicell Medication System.

Physical Environment:

Post Partum unit caring for patients from less than one year to ninety-nine years old.

Physical Effort:
  • Proficient in English communication, both oral and written.
  • Prolonged standing and working up to twelve hours.
  • Push/pull objects up to 175 lbs.
  • Lift and turn patients up to 250 lbs. with assistance.
Performance Standards
  1. Revise patient care plans based on individual needs, diagnosis, standards, interventions, and outcomes.
  2. Assist with patient teaching, discharge planning, and post-discharge needs.
  3. Perform treatments, procedures, and operate equipment independently, adhering to policies and competency assessments.
  4. Handle medications and solutions safely according to policies.
  5. Monitor and report patient conditions, evaluate responses, and modify care plans promptly.
  6. Document care accurately and timely.
  7. Maintain a healing environment for patients and families.
  8. Maintain required qualifications and facilitate staff development.
  9. Communicate responsibly and maintain professionalism in appearance and environment.
