Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers who can blend business development with technical workload. You’ll carry relationships and a stamp, while the company provides the lab, field staff, and quality system to support growth.

You will develop clients, scope and price proposals, and serve as engineer of record on the projects you win. Expect travel and a performance-based revenue share alongside base salary.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection, including client-facing responsibility.
• Track record of bringing in work, or a credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients—general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects won: review field and laboratory data, resolve failures, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in the market.
