Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers who are comfortable both in a contractor's office pitching testing programs and in the field reviewing compaction reports and sealing geotechnical letters.

You will carry a business development target alongside a technical workload, manage client relationships, and contribute to proposal development and project execution while the company handles the laboratory, field staff, and quality system.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the posting state or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Proven track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review field and laboratory data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
