Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers who thrive in both client development and technical review. You will lead relationships with general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.

As a seller-doer, you will scope and price proposals, convert opportunities into signed work, and serve as engineer of record on projects you win, reviewing data and sealing reports.

Qualifications

• PE license in state of posting or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Proven track record of bringing in work or credible plan to do so.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects; review data, resolve issues, seal reports.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
