Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a licensed Professional Engineer to blend business development with engineering leadership. You will cultivate client relationships among general contractors, owners, and design firms while delivering technically sound geotechnical and materials testing services.

You will scope, price, and write proposals, negotiate terms, and serve as engineer of record on projects you win, reviewing data, sealing reports, and coordinating lab schedules.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection, including client-facing responsibility.
• Record of bringing in work, or a clear, credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services; scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review field and laboratory data, resolve failing tests, and seal reports and letters; direct technicians and inspectors and coordinate testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
