Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers who thrive in both office development and field/ lab review. You’ll balance business development with technical workload, managing relationships and delivering stamped reports.

Expect to build a client book among general contractors, owners, and design firms for materials testing, geotechnical, and special inspection services. You’ll lead proposals, pricing, and project oversight while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the posting state or by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• A track record of bringing in work or a credible plan for business development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients — general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms — for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on the projects you win: review field and laboratory data, resolve failing tests, and seal reports and letters.
