Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers to drive business development while handling technical workload in materials testing, geotechnical services, and special inspections. You will cultivate client relationships, price proposals, and seal reports as engineer of record.

In this seller-doer role, you will travel to client sites, coordinate with field staff and the laboratory, and participate in owner meetings and industry events to win and retain projects.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil/geotechnical/structural) in the posting state or by comity within 90 days.
• Six or more years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms and convert opportunities to signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, resolve failures, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors, coordinate with the lab on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
