Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers who can sell testing programs and also perform engineering review duties. You will maintain client relationships, scope and price proposals, and seal reports while coordinating with in-house laboratory staff.

The role blends business development with technical workload. Travel to client offices and jobsites is required; base salary ranges with revenue share apply based on license history and market.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil/geotechnical/structural) in the posting state or by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection.
• Proven track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients—general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review field and laboratory data, resolve failures, and seal reports/letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
