Job summary

AEG Vision in Chapel Hill is seeking a Licensed Optician to join our team, delivering expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will help patients select frames, verify prescriptions, ensure proper fit, and dispense lenses with accuracy.

Work with technicians and doctors, stay current on products and lens options, and provide outstanding customer service while upholding HIPAA and insurance knowledge.

Qualifications

• State licensure to practice as an optician.
• High school diploma or GED.
• ABO/NCLE certification preferred.
• Optical dispensing experience.
• HIPAA knowledge preferred.
• Proficient with MC Office and Windows.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories.
• Take and dispense prescriptions; ensure frame fit and lens accuracy.
• Enter prescription data into EHR and ALE systems.
• Explain insurance coverage, warranties, and service options.
• Maintain clean, organized frames and display areas.
