Job summary

Visionworks is seeking an Optical Dispensing Assistant to help customers select frames and lenses, interpret prescriptions, and dispense eyewear with accuracy. The role emphasizes customer service and compliance with health and privacy policies.

You will apply the SERVE sales process, provide lens recommendations, and handle insurance details while maintaining a clean, compliant dispensing area.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Ability to explain optical products, services, and interpret prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in frame and lens selection and dispensing.
• Ensure compliance with social distancing and hygiene practices.
• Provide accurate product information regarding frames and lens options.
• Inform customers about insurance coverage and any charges not covered.
• Analyze prescriptions and communicate with Lab/Optometrist for accuracy.
• Sell, fit and dispense frames and accessories with precise measurements.
• Maintain a clean, organized dispensing area and verify customer pricing.
• Adhere to privacy and HIPAA policies and participate in training.
