Job summary

Visionworks is seeking an Optical Dispensing Associate to assist customers in frame and lens selection, interpret prescriptions, and dispense eyewear. You will ensure social distancing and hygiene practices, provide detailed product information, and coordinate with labs and optometrists to guarantee prescription accuracy.

The role requires state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Ability to explain optical products, services, prescriptions, fitting and dispensing.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with frame and lens selection and dispensing.
• Ensure compliance with social distancing and cleaning protocols.
• Provide customers with accurate product information and lens/service options.
• Inform customers of insurance coverage and any charges not covered by insurance.
• Use SERVE sales process to identify needs and recommend lenses.
• Interpret prescriptions and coordinate with Lab and Optometrist for accuracy.
• Sell and dispense frames and accessories with precise measurements.
• Maintain a clean, organized dispensing area.
• Verify accurate customer pricing and adhere to pricing policies.
• Maintain license requirements per state guidelines.
• Provide guidance to Apprentice Opticians when applicable.
• Adhere to HIPAA and company privacy policies.
