Job summary

AEG Vision in Mansfield, MA is seeking an experienced Licensed Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care.

You will help patients select frames, lenses, and accessories, ensure proper measurements and lens dispensing, and deliver a high-quality, personalized experience. This role emphasizes accuracy, patient satisfaction, and teamwork with optometrists and technicians.

Qualifications

• State licensure required to practice as an optician.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Optical dispensing experience required.
• HIPAA experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Windows is expected.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail are important.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories that fit prescription, lifestyle, and personal style.
• Take measurements, ensure proper fit, and dispense lenses.
• Explain products and services and provide exceptional patient care.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lenses, coatings, rebates, and available products.
• Enter prescription data into EHR and ALE systems accurately.
• Communicate with technicians and managers regarding order status.
• Follow up on pending orders and notify patients when eyewear is ready.
• Inspect final products for quality and adjust as needed.
