Job summary

Visionworks in Massachusetts is seeking a Retail Optical Associate to assist customers with frame and lens selection, fit and dispense frames, and interpret prescriptions to guide product choices.

You will explain frame and lens options, assist customers with third-party insurance benefits and any charges not covered, and maintain accurate pricing and a clean dispensing area. HIPAA compliance and teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• Must have state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Knowledge of optical products, services, and prescription interpretation.
• Experience explaining frame and lens options to customers and handling insurance benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with frame and lens selection and dispense frames.
• Provide accurate product information on frames, lenses and services.
• Explain third-party insurance benefits and any charges not covered, ensuring proper selection.
• Utilize SERVE sales process to identify needs and recommend lenses.
• Interpret prescriptions and communicate with Lab/Optometrist for accuracy.
• Maintain clean, organized dispensing area and ensure accurate pricing.
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy guidelines and participate in training.
