Job summary

Miami University Libraries seeks a customer-focused technology professional for a one-year temporary appointment to support library computing devices, services, and projects. The role involves endpoint management, documentation, automation, and collaboration with central IT to improve library operations.

The candidate will gain hands-on experience in systems administration and higher education technology, working with a variety of devices and ticketing workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and interest in IT, systems administration, or related fields.
• Experience troubleshooting tech issues in work, school, or volunteer settings.
• Basic knowledge of Windows, macOS, or mobile OS environments.
• Experience with desktop support and technology services in a library,教育 or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for library desktop, laptop, mobile, and public computing devices.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software.
• Assist with Apple, Windows, and Chromebook devices management.
• Respond to and resolve tech support requests via IT ticketing system.
• Maintain asset inventories and documentation; assist with software deployment and updates.
• Support automation, scripting, and project initiatives; monitor systems for issues.
