Job summary

Columbus Metropolitan Library is hiring a Security Officer for the Driving Park Branch in Columbus, OH. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a starting pay range of $19.20–$20.20 hourly, commensurate with experience.

The officer will patrol, deter theft, assist customers, and respond to incidents while maintaining a professional image and adherence to post orders. Training and safety procedures are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of customer service or security experience or training.
• Valid driver license may be required depending on location.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Patrol buildings and grounds to prevent theft and ensure safety.
• greet customers, answer questions, and assist with events.
• Respond to safety hazards or emergencies and document incidents.
• Maintain professional appearance and report equipment needs.
