Job summary

The Durango Public Library is seeking an IT Help Desk Technician based in the library to be a primary technology resource for staff and community members. You’ll support public computers, staff devices, meeting room tech, and library systems.

The starting pay for this position is $49,913 per year, with opportunities for growth up to $69,878 per year based on long-term growth and performance within the role. Comprehensive benefits and time off are provided.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience supporting desktop, laptop, and tablet systems.
• Associate degree or equivalent training in a related field.
• Preference for CompTIA A+ certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person and remote technology support to library staff and community members.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade computers, laptops, tablets, printers, software, and other equipment.
• Manage support requests and maintain records of technology repairs, updates, inventory, and system changes.
• Support library technology, including public computers, meeting room equipment, self-check stations, automated return system, security cameras, and the integrated library system.
• Help community members use computers, mobile devices, email, internet resources, library databases, digital materials, mobile printing, and other technology.
• Maintain public computer software, security tools, system images, and updates.
• Coordinate technology needs with the City’s Information Technology (IT) team, working together on technology needs, system support, and related projects.
• Train library staff and community members on technology, software, and digital tools, including technology orientation for new employees.
• Research technology needs, recommend improvements, and maintain technical instructions and system information.
• Maintain library webpages, online catalog pages, and the Durango Public Library mobile app.
• Assist with meeting room technology and occasional circulation, reference, and other library operations.
