Job summary

Duchesne County Library is seeking a Branch Manager to supervise staff, foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, and ensure excellent patron service at the Duchesne County Library. You will guide staff, oversee daily operations, programs, and facility management, while partnering with the Library Director to advance the library's mission.

The role emphasizes leadership, staff development, policy adherence, event coordination, and community outreach to serve residents across Duchesne

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation and drug test.
• Must be able to speak, write, and communicate effectively in English; read and interpret policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, lead, and supervise branch staff, fostering a safe, respectful, positive, and growth-minded environment.
• Communicate frequently and honestly with staff and volunteers; actively listen, inspire, correct, and recognize staff progress.
• Manage staff conflict with exemplary communication; navigate high emotions and maintain safe discussions.
• Implement library mission, core values, strategic plan goals, and align with Library Director directions.
• Schedule, oversee staff workflow, and supervise facilities, services, and programs; assist with planning and budgeting of services.
• Collaborate with Duchesne, Roosevelt, and Uintah County libraries to provide Basin-wide services.
• Oversee branch collection, ordering, and patron requests; ensure accessibility and condition of collections.
• Participate in professional development and risk management training; supervise safe operations and incident responses.
• Oversee on-site safety, emergency responses, and disciplinary actions per library policy.
