Under the supervision of the County Library Director, the branch management are the mentors, leaders, and exemplary librarians of their branch. As library staff is the most important resource a library can offer, their primary role is to guide and supervise the library staff by cultivating a safe, respectful, positive, and growth-minded work environment and culture. They must have the emotional stamina to navigate a variety of perspectives and expectations from a diverse staff. The staff mostly consists of Associate Librarians. The branch management may also oversee volunteers, long and short-term. Secondary to the critical supervisory/mentor responsibilities, they also direct a wide variety of library and administrative duties including clerical work, event programming, outreach, technology use, excellent customer service, and management of library facilities and resources. The manager communicates and collaborates frequently with the County Library Director who mentors them. Managers assume the director's responsibilities in their absence. Through these efforts together, they lead their staff in making Duchesne County Library an essential, efficient community resource and heart of the community that is focused on the progress of its residents.
