Job summary

Alsip-Merrionette Park Public Library District is seeking an Access Services Manager to supervise the Access Services Department, oversee the ILS/ILL, and coordinate workflows for library programs and services.

The role requires leadership, customer-focused service, and collaboration across departments, with responsibility for reporting and staff development in a dynamic public library setting.

Qualifications

• ALA accredited Master’s degree in Library and Information Science required.
• 2+ years of supervisory, library technical services and ILS management experience preferred.
• Previous work in a public library setting; bilingual ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and manages receiving, cataloging, classification and processing and circulation of all library materials.
• Oversees the Integrated Library System (ILS) and serves as primary point of contact for system issues.
• Provides administrative oversight for technical services, bibliographic databases, and resource-sharing networks.
• Manages department staff and evaluates performance; trains and collaborates across departments.
• Attends professional meetings and leads initiatives in operations and services.
