Job summary

Chicago State University Library seeks an energetic Access Services Librarian to lead operations and strategic planning for Access Services. This 12-month, tenure-track library faculty role reports to the Chair of Library and Instruction Services.

The successful candidate will coordinate Circulation, Interlibrary Loan, Print/Electronic Reserves, and Stacks Maintenance, while fostering collaboration and superior service.

Qualifications

• MLIS or MLS by start date or soon after.
• Minimum two years in Access Services in an academic library.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and department.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle fast-paced change with initiative.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusive practices.
• Knowledge of copyright rules related to Interlibrary Loan and Reserves.
• Ability to meet performance criteria for duties, research and service.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, oversight, and strategic planning for Access Services.
• Coordinate Circulation, Interlibrary Loan, Print/Electronic Reserves, and Stacks Maintenance.
• Work with staff to ensure high-quality user-focused service.
• Collaborate across departments to improve library operations.
