Job summary

Naperville Public Library seeks an Integrated Library Systems Administrator to manage the Sierra ILS, oversee configurations, backups, and vendor coordination for upgrades and integrations. The role focuses on usability, accessibility, and performance across the library tech ecosystem.

You will lead conversations with stakeholders, develop workflows, and provide reporting guidance to improve discovery and access. Strong communication and project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience creating queries, preferably with Create List and SQL.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience managing or coordinating an Integrated Library Management Solution or other enterprise-based digital ecosystem.
• Minimum 3 years' experience with MARC standards.

Responsibilities

• Administer Sierra/ILS: configuration, backup, retention, monitoring.
• Coordinate patching, upgrades, testing with vendor.
• Develop upgrade schedules based on vendor roadmaps.
• Lead end-user meetings for updates and workflow improvements.
• Set system configurations to increase efficiency and reliability.
• Test upgrades using change-management best practices.
• Manage data feeds including patron data.
• Troubleshoot ILS issues and liaise with vendors and staff.
