Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking a Member Services Representative – Lending & Member Solutions to support credit union members with inquiries, loan information, and account services.

The role emphasizes cross-selling lending products and back-up teller duties as needed. Responsibilities include interviewing loan applicants, reviewing documents, ensuring terms compliance, and assisting with opening/closing accounts while routing complex issues to managers.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Six months to two years of similar or related experience in a financial institution.
• Knowledge of Teller policies and procedures.
• Basic understanding of Credit Union operations.
• Good understanding of financial services and products provided.
• Knowledge of Credit Union loan services, policies, and procedures.
• Understanding of related legal and regulatory standards, and required loan documentation.
• Knowledge of consumer lending practices.

Responsibilities

• Responds to member inquiries via phone and email; resolves complaints; identifies cross-selling opportunities.
• Interview loan applicants to assess needs, prepare and review loan documents, explain options.
• Assist opening/closing accounts and route issues beyond authority to manager.
• Back up teller line: process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, money orders; balance cash drawer.
• Welcome members and provide routine information; direct to appropriate department.
• Ensure compliance with loan terms and current lending regulations.
