  • Maintain organized physical and electronic legal files with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Provide professional administrative and legal support to attorneys and legal staff.
  • 3 to 5 years of legal office, legal assistant, or related legal administrative experience.
  • Experience supporting litigation matters, preferably Commercial Litigation or Insurance Defense.
  • Strong knowledge of legal office procedures, document preparation, filing processes, and deadline management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, document management systems, calendars, email, and standard office technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional phone and client service manner.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, professionalism, and dependability.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, proofread, and prepare legal correspondence, attorney letters, pleadings, court documents, and case-related materials.
  • Organize, file, track, and maintain confidential legal documents, recordings, physical files, and electronic case files.

  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, vendors, opposing counsel, attorneys, and internal legal staff.
  • Assist with billing, invoice preparation, document management, legal research, and paralegal-level support as needed.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls while providing general administrative support to attorneys and legal personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Paralegal-level support experience or legal assistant training is helpful.
  • Experience working in a downtown professional legal office or law firm environment.
