Why is this role crucial for Pogust Goodhead?

Our law firm is at the cutting edge of litigating a substantial number of complex mass tort lawsuits and personal injury lawsuits and seeks a detail-oriented, analytical, experienced Legal Intake Specialist to assist our team in setting up and managing the process of onboarding new and prospective clients. The ideal candidate will be an integral member of the US-based legal intake team by vetting potential clients for some of the largest and most important lawsuit claims in the country.

Responsibilities

You will play a vital part in our intake team by being the first point of contact for prospective clients. Your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Interviewing prospective clients by phone and email to see if the claim fits the case criteria.
  • Managing intake campaigns, including maintaining reports on working intakes, following up on retainer agreements, and reporting to the Partners and litigation team.
  • Conducting basic research to investigate prospective clients’ claims.
  • Onboarding new clients by sending the necessary paperwork and putting together initial case files.
  • Entering and maintaining client information in the data management system meticulously.
  • Nurturing relationships with other law firms to grow referrals.
  • Performing administrative support tasks as assigned.
What You’ll Bring To Pogust Goodhead

We’re looking for an experienced Legal Intake Specialist who is as passionate about what we do as we are. Strong written and organizational skills are vital, as are excellent analytical skills and acute attention to detail. You must be reliable and persistent about following-up and following-through.

Strong communication skills are required. This position involves heavy telephone client contact so you must be confident, enthusiastic, and persistent about getting new clients on the phone, talking through what they experienced and sharing concise notes with the team about what you learn. If you don’t like being on the phone, this isn’t the role for you.

Many of our clients do not have experience of working with a law firm, and usually, they have experienced something difficult, unfair, or painful. We’re looking for someone who can be warm, patient, and compassionate.

You’ll enjoy working in an independent and proactive manner, willing to ask for help when needed, and have the utmost respect for client confidentiality. A resilient and flexible approach will allow you to feel comfortable working as part of a professional and passionate team.

We welcome additional non-legal experience involving client care, sales, or customer-facing roles, but this experience is not essential!
