The Positions

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) occasionally seeks applicants for full-time, term appointments as lecturers, visiting faculty, clinical faculty (School of Nursing, School of Education), academic professional track (College of Arts & Sciences, School of Music, Theatre and Dance, School of Health and Human Sciences). These are non-tenure-track appointments that include the possibility of renewal based on factors including, but not limited to, continued need, satisfactory performance, and availability of funding. The positions may be day or evening. In many cases, the minimum degree required is the doctorate or terminal degree; the Master’s degree may be appropriate in other instances, based on the requirements of the position. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an academic setting that is ethnically/culturally diverse is highly desirable.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, positions in the following disciplines and departments may be available.

  • African American and Diaspora Studies; Liberal & Professional Studies (Liberal & Interdisciplinary Studies, Professional Studies, Religious Studies, International & Global Studies, and Videogaming/Esports); Biology; Chemistry and Biochemistry; Ancient Mediterranean Studies and Archaeology; Communication Studies; Computer Science; English; Freshman Seminars Program; Geography; History; Interior Architecture; Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and American Sign Language); Mathematics and Statistics; Media Studies; Philosophy; Physics and Astronomy; Political Science; Psychology; Sociology, Criminology, and Justice Studies; Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program.
  • Accounting and Finance; Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies; Economics; Information Systems and Supply Chain Management; Management; Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality, and Tourism.
  • Counseling and Educational Development; Specialized Education Services; Information, Library, and Research Sciences; Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations; Teacher Education and Higher Education.
  • Communication Sciences and Disorders; Community and Therapeutic Recreation; Human Development and Family Studies; Genetic Counseling; Gerontology; Kinesiology; Nutrition; Public Education; Social Work, and Peace and Conflict Studies.
  • Various needs in art, arts administration, dance, music, and theatre.
  • Professional Nursing Education; Advanced Nursing Education and various needs related to nursing education, administration, and clinical practice.
  • Various needs in nanoscience education.
