Job summary

Cardinal is seeking a Leasing Community Intern (Temporary, Non-Exempt) in San Marcos, TX to gain hands-on experience in leasing and resident services. You will support front desk tasks, attend Cardinal Way of Leasing training, and help drive occupancy and tenant satisfaction while working ~20 hours per week including evenings and weekends.

The role emphasizes customer service excellence, collaboration with the Community Manager, and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be enrolled in a degree program with a minimum of 6 credit hours.
• Must have completed at least one year at the enrolled college or university.
• Maintains a minimum 2.5 GPA; GPA reviewed annually.
• Must be a current or future leaseholder of the community.
• Must live on designated community floor as assigned.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Available to work approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to embody Cardinal culture and core values daily.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for customer service to ensure resident satisfaction.
• Perform Administrative Front Desk tasks and duties.
• Participate in Cardinal Way of Leasing training.
• Greet prospective clients, answer leasing calls, and present the community.
• Complete lease applications and lease file paperwork; pass leasing shops.
• Maintain lease file documentation and assist with audits.
• Stay informed on market conditions and participate in trainings.
• Keep tour paths clean and project a positive, professional attitude.
• Assist with community events and other projects as assigned.
• On-call responsibilities; evenings and weekends required.
