Cardinal Group is seeking a Leasing Community Intern in Berkeley, CA to deliver high‑quality customer service and support 100% occupancy goals. The role requires teamwork, strong communication, and a willingness to work evenings and weekends in a fast‑paced residential environment.

Responsibilities include front desk duties, leasing presentations, applicant processing, and maintaining accurate lease files. Candidates must be enrolled in a degree program and live on-site at the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be enrolled in a degree program with a minimum of 6 credit hours.
• Must have completed at least one year at the enrolled college/university.
• Must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA; GPA verified annually.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for customer service by ensuring Cardinal customers are satisfied.
• Perform administrative front desk tasks and duties.
• Participate in Cardinal Way of Leasing (CWoL) training.
• Greet prospective clients and answer leasing calls; determine needs and preferences.
• Present the community and apartment homes professionally; use feature/benefit selling.
• Close the sale and follow up with leads.
• Complete lease applications and lease files; pass third-party leasing shops.
• Maintain lease file documentation and assist with audits.
• Maintain cleanliness of the tour path and present a positive first impression.
• Demonstrate a professional attitude with team members, residents, and vendors.
• Assist with planning community events and other projects; participate in training.
