Job summary

Cardinal Group Companies is seeking a Leasing Community Intern (Temporary, Non-Exempt) to deliver high-quality customer service and drive occupancy. The role requires teamwork, on-site presence, and flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

The intern will complete lease applications, participate in leasing training, and support community events while upholding Cardinal Core Values. This paid internship offers exposure to property management duties and professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be enrolled in a degree program with a minimum of 6 credit hours.
• Must have completed a minimum of one year at the enrolled accredited college or university.
• Must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
• Must be a current or future leaseholder of the community.
• Must live on designated community floor, per community guidelines, as assigned by Community Manager.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Available to be scheduled for work approximately 20 hours per week.
• Available evenings and weekends.
• Ability to embody the Cardinal Culture and Cardinal’s Core Values every day.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for customer service by consistently going above and beyond to ensure satisfaction.
• Administrative Front Desk tasks and duties.
• Participate in Cardinal Way of Leasing (CWoL) training as required.
• Utilize the Cardinal Way of Leasing by warmly greeting prospective clients, answering calls, determining needs, presenting the community and homes, selling benefits, closing the sale, and following up.
• Complete all lease applications and lease file paperwork.
• Pass third party leasing shops and become Cardinal Way of Leasing certified.
• Maintain accurate lease file documentation and participate in audits.
• Maintain cleanliness of the tour path for a positive first impression.
• Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude with team members, residents, and vendors.
• Participate in and assist with planning community events.
• Assist with additional community projects as assigned.
• Participate in Cardinal U training as required.
• On-call responsibilities (lock-outs, nightly rounds, etc.).
• Work evenings and weekends.
