Job summary

Cable One is seeking a Lease Accountant to maintain ASC 842 lease accounting schedules and build a solid end-to-end understanding of the lease process. The role emphasizes accuracy in journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting SOX/compliance activities.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Financial Accounting and have at least one year of general ledger experience; ASC 842 familiarity is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financial Accounting and a minimum of one year of practical general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
• Develops end-to-end process understanding of lease accounting, including stakeholders, systems, accounting processes, and internal controls.
• Prepares weekly/monthly/quarterly analyses and related journal entries for lease accounting.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts and investigates variances.
• Supports internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
• Completes special projects and analyses as requested by leadership.
• Keeps up to date with FASB, SEC and PCAOB accounting standards and assesses impact.
