Job summary

State of Washington is seeking a Learning and Development Specialist to support DSHS employees through leadership development and competency-based training. You will design, implement, and update training materials and facilitate diverse learning modalities.

You will work collaboratively with a team to coach, mentor, and consult on organizational development and change initiatives aligned with agency priorities. A flexible/hybrid schedule is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with focus on business, education, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences, or related field and three years of broad-based professional human resource experience.
• Equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accessible learning through coaching, ILT, VILT, microlearnings, and blended learning.
• Serve as expert on federal/state programs; provide training development for all staff.
• Plan and implement training projects using adult learning theory.
• Design and update lesson plans, handbooks, assessments, trainer guides and materials.
• Update online, instructor-led, and virtual instructor-led training content.
• Facilitate meetings and knowledge transfer with subject matter experts.
• Provide Organizational Change Management and instructional design guidance to management.
