Job summary

ABB is seeking a Training & Capability Development Specialist for US ELSE Commercial Operations to build and execute a comprehensive learning strategy that supports business transformation and workforce development. You will partner across the organization to create engaging learning experiences and programs that equip employees with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in learning & development, instructional design, training, or organizational capability building.
Strong skills in facilitation, content development, stakeholder engagement, and project management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience creating professional training materials and documentation.
Ability to translate complex processes and systems into clear, effective learning experiences.
Experience developing or delivering Salesforce training and knowledge of Salesforce configuration, workflows, and best practices.
Experience with Empower or comparable quoting, proposal, commercial workflow, or CPQ platforms.
Experience designing competency models, role-based learning pathways, capability frameworks, and career development structures.
Experience supporting commercial operations, sales operations, proposal management, order management, or contract management functions.
Experience with modern digital learning tools such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, or AI-assisted content development platforms.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and execution of training and capability-building initiatives aligned with business transformation goals.
Design, develop, and deliver instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced learning programs.
Create training materials, job aids, assessments, and process documentation that support employee success.
Partner with business leaders and SMEs to translate processes and systems into effective learning solutions.
Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and supporting documentation.
Establish and manage onboarding, upskilling, and role-based development programs.
Coordinate training schedules, communications, and learning events across the organization.
Maintain training content and resources within the Learning Management System (LMS).
Monitor training participation, compliance, and effectiveness using learner and business performance metrics.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development across US ELSE Services.
