Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Reconditioning Manager to supervise a team in a Carvana Inspection Center, overseeing daily operations, quality, and cost objectives. The role requires managing multiple leads and up to 70 associates in a lean manufacturing setting.

You will mentor staff, drive training initiatives, and ensure adherence to safety and performance standards while supporting strategic initiatives and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends.
• Walk up to three miles daily and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Wear safety gear as required in a vehicle maintenance environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Mentor direct reports and succession planning through coaching and training.
• Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with company goals.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that inspires communication, team cohesion, and Carvana values.
• Maintain supervisory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are consistently executed.
• Train and mentor leads and associates with competency-based feedback.
• Ensure adequate production capacity and assist with planning.
• Ensure health, safety and loss prevention compliance.
• Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team to meet metrics.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
