Job summary

G&W Electric Co. in Illinois is seeking a 1st Shift Production Supervisor (5 am – 1:30 pm) to oversee daily manufacturing operations and guide a team of about 6+ employees.

You will plan work, monitor performance, drive lean initiatives, ensure safety, and coordinate with QA, planning, and supply chain to meet schedule dates. Qualifications include 5–7 years in manufacturing, 3+ years leading an hourly workforce, a HS diploma (Bachelor's an asset), and proficiency with MS Office and inventory

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 3 years directing an hourly or manufacturing workforce.
• HS diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office and inventory/planning systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Lean, Six Sigma, 5P or related continuous improvement knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to meet schedules.
• Control manpower and materials to complete jobs on time.
• Guide team toward goals; adjust work distribution as needed.
• Lead continuous improvement activities and evaluate new processes.
• Drive lean initiatives and value stream improvements with Operational Excellence.
• Supervise manufacturing employees and track timekeeping.
• Coach and develop employees; handle performance issues.
• Coordinate with Warehouse, Planning and QA to resolve issues.
