Job summary

G&W Electric Co. is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations for a designated value stream.

You will plan, assign, and monitor work while implementing policies to improve production methods, equipment, and working conditions. The role emphasizes balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale, with responsibilities for leading continuous improvement, training, and employee development in a lean environment.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years’ progressive experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 3 years directing an hourly/manufacturing workforce.
• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with planning and inventory systems.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Lean, Six Sigma, 5P or related continuous improvement experience.

Responsibilities

• Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results.
• Control manpower and materials needed to complete jobs on time.
• Guide group toward goals; adjust work roles and distribution as needed.
• Lead continuous improvement activities; research new processes and equipment.
• Partner with Operational Excellence to implement lean value stream priorities.
• Supervise manufacturing employees and track timekeeping; manage attendance.
• Provide mentoring and resolve employee issues through coaching and discipline as needed.
• Coordinate training to improve throughput and reduce scrap/rework.
